FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
My file is taking a long time to upload.
If your file size is large and/or your Internet connection is slow, your file may seem to take a long time to upload. Unfortunately, these two factors cannot be controlled by our LOOP service. Please note, LOOP only supports a maximum file size of 10MB.
I get a ‘Could not convert’ error message.
Please confirm that your file does not have any of the below problems and you have tried to upload the file more than once. Also check to make sure your margins are greater than zero. If you still receive this error message, you may email your document to support@drawloop.com so that our support team can analyze the problem.
I get a ‘File is locked or encrypted’ error message.
For obvious reasons, LOOP cannot convert password protected or encrypted files. To remove password protection from a file, open the file and click File -> Save As. In the top right corner of the Save As dialog box, click Tools -> Security Options. Delete any passwords to open or modify and save the file.
I get a ‘File type unsupported’ error message.
LOOP supports the following document types: Microsoft Word (.doc, .docx), Microsoft Excel (.xls), Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx), Microsoft Publisher (.pub), Microsoft Visio (.vsd), PDF, Bitmap (.bmp), GIF, JPG, PNG, Plain Text (.txt), Rich Text (.rtf), XML, and HTM/HTML. Microsoft Office 2007 Excel documents are scheduled to be supported later this year.
I get a ‘File too large. Max file size is 10MB’ error message.
To check the size of your file while the file is open, click File -> Properties. To check the size of your file with the file closed, right click the file icon and select Properties. The size of the file is located on the General tab.
My files reappear after I have removed them.
After your file is converted, LOOP generates thumbnails of each page of the converted PDF for the Advanced Page Order option. Your file cannot be completely removed until after all of the thumbnails are generated. Therefore, if you refresh or return to the Upload page after removing a file that thumbnails were still in the process of being generated, your file will still remain in your list of files.
My fonts are not being kept when I convert a Word or PowerPoint file.
If the font you are using is a TrueType font, you can embed the font in the document. Watch this demo to see how to embed TrueType fonts or follow these directions. With the Word or PowerPoint file open, click Tools -> Options and go to the Save tab. Check the box that says Embed TrueType fonts, click OK and save the document. If you are still having font conversion problems, please email our support team at support@drawloop.com.
My resulting PDF files are being reordered alphabetically.
After uploading your files, if you refresh the Upload page or go to the Advanced Page Order page, your files will be reordered alphabetically. LOOP does not store the order in which you uploaded your files. To reorder your files, you can drag and drop the files or select a file and use the move up and move down buttons.
“The LOOP application has timed out or encountered an application error.”
Your session has timed out after a period of inactivity. This is done for security purposes. You can select the “Remember Me” option when you login and if your session times out it will automatically log you back in.
When I try to convert a web page, the PDF is of the login page.
LOOP cannot convert web pages that require a login since we do not have access to your login information. We hope to support this functionality in the near future.
When I try to convert a web page, some of the images do not display.
LOOP is unable to support most instances of Flash on web pages. Therefore, a web page that contains animation, such as Flash and animated GIFs, will not convert to PDF as it appears in your browser.
When I convert a web page, the links are not active.
Unfortunately, LOOP cannot currently convert files to PDF and keep the links active. The solution we have tried for this makes the conversion process much slower. We hope to find and add a viable solution for this to LOOP in the near future.
