Upgrade to LOOP Document Services 6.3 Today

Among many new enhancements, we are excited to highlight some new features that are available in LOOP Document Services version 6.3 that is available from the AppExchange today.

NEW DDP FEATURES

Merge Originals to PDF
The Merge Originals feature was originally released in version 6.0 with the ability to merge originals with outputting the original format (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Now we have extended this feature to allow the output format to be PDF (one combined PDF or separate PDFs). This feature, when combined with other features like Pause to Edit below, can provide you with powerful and flexible new options for your document creation needs.

Pause to Edit
This new feature provides a solution for document deliverables that need to be manually edited by the sender before the final output is delivered to a recipient. With this new feature, DDP users will be provided links to download the merged documents in their original format for editing. After editing, the user can use the available upload buttons to replace the generated documents. (DDP admins control which documents are available to be edited by DDP users). This new functionality allows “on the fly” edits to be inserted into the DDP process to complete other workflows built within the DDP – post to Chatter, create a new record, store to Salesforce attachment, or any other action created within the DDP.

Sortable DDP Files
Sortable DDP Files allow the user to re-order select files in a DDP before receiving the final output. This is especially powerful when used with Merge Originals to create dynamic PowerPoint presentations from optional slides in the order that the user prefers and can deliver the simplicity of a single combined PowerPoint created from a series of PowerPoint files.

DDP Form Rules, Titles, and Notes
With version 6.3 of LOOP Document Services, your DDP Forms can now be equipped with Rules that allow DDP admins to show/hide/disable fields, steps, or error messages. You can use operators like equals, starts with, contains, or even advanced options like regular expressions. Additionally, you can use Titles and Notes in your DDP Forms to provide additional context to your DDP users.

LOOP Document Services 6.2 Now Available

We are excited to announce the unveiling of version 6.2 of LOOP Document Services on the Salesforce AppExchange! Below are some of the enhancements included in this update.

Significant improvements and fixes have been made to our DDP Forms process to make this easier to use. DDP Forms are useful for gathering additional data or verifying/updating data before a user generates a DDP. These enhancements include a select all checkbox for moving fields between form steps and the ability to change the column widths for each step.

DDP Enclosures. This new feature allows DDPs to reference one Document Folder or one Content Library that allows a user to include files from the folder/library on the fly. Enclosures can be used as marketing materials or other additional collateral.

Easily select a Chatter Group for DDP Chatter posts. When creating a Chatter post via a DDP Insert-Update, DDP admins can now easily select a Chatter Group in both the DDP Wizard and the standard Insert-Update interfaces.

In addition to being able to pull Chatter feeds into DDP documents, you can now also pull user images for the Chatter feed. This can be used to show the small or large icons of the users that posted in the feed. Cool stuff!

New eSign recipient type: Current User’s Manager. Now, DDP eSign Recipients can reference the logged in user’s manager. This makes sending DDPs to an e-sign service easier for users.

Merge Chatter Feeds Into Your Docs

Some of our best ideas and enhancements come from our customers. One of those great ideas came up as a nice enhancement to one of our customers internal Account Plan Summary dynamic document packages.

The Account Plan Summary provides a sales rep with the ability to create a summary of all account activity on-demand dynamically brining all of the account information into a professional PowerPoint document. The PowerPoint includes:

Account information
Dynamic Org Chart
Pie graphs summarizing data
One-pagers on each Opportunity

And now, Chatter feeds for the Account. You can dynamically merge all Chatter data into your documents. This includes the post message, comment count, created by information including the user’s chatter image, like count, link URL, and file information if a file was posted.

LOOP Document Services 6.1 Available Now

The highly anticipated version 6.1 of LOOP Document Services is available now on the AppExchange! We are very excited about the new features in this version. The new features provide DDP Admins with additional functionality around tagging document templates and enhancements for all of our users around the world!

NEW FEATURES

Field Tagger Enhancements

In this version of our Field Tagger, you can now (1) display tags for all fields on the selected object, (2) see data from an existing record for that object, and (3) use new tags for Delivery Option information: Id, Name, and Type. This is helpful to associate Salesforce values with fields, particularly for your custom objects.

Include LOOP Storage documents as attachments

This is a powerful feature which allows a user to include any “ad hoc” documents that are attached to the records when generating a DDP. We have extended the functionality that exists for Notes & Attachments to include Amazon S3 files. Learn more about LOOP Storage here.

DDP Locale Setting

By default, DDPs will use the Salesforce user’s locale settings to format date, number, and currency values. But what if your Opportunity or Account uses a different locale than the user? Now, you can specify the Locale to be used within the DDP! In addition to using the user’s locale or specifying the locale by DDP, you can also dynamically change the DDP Locale based on data in Salesforce.

Deliver DDPs to an FTP directory over SSL

This extremely powerful feature is designed to help enterprise companies leverage document creation in the cloud while providing the necessary storage of documents in their own FTP directory.

Profile Settings included for installing and upgrading

Now Salesforce administrators can take advantage of built in security settings when installing or upgrading LOOP Document Services into their organizations. When installing/upgrading, choose “Select security settings” to choose which profiles should have DDP Admin or DDP User permissions. When upgrading, these settings will only affect new components (objects, fields, pages).

Schedule and Send DDPs to Chatter

We are excited see our dynamic document creation service extend its impact on the Social Enterprise. As a Salesforce partner, we are committed to helping our customers leverage all of the powerful tools available within Salesforce.

We recently helped a customer extend its reach to their customers by allowing them to schedule and automatically post dynamic document packages (DDPs) to Chatter Customer Groups. Customer Groups allow companies using Chatter to collaborate with people inside and outside of their company in a private and secure way.

Use Case: Schedule and Post Dynamic Reports to Chatter

Let’s say you have several Chatter Groups set up within your company that include internal company users and free external Chatter users, and you would like to have your weekly sales report, project list, or account plan summary automatically posted to the appropriate Chatter group each Friday at 5:00pm.

With Drawloop, you can schedule and automatically post any dynamic document package (DDP – including any Salesforce reports) to Chatter. Here’s how it works:

Schedule DDPs to Chatter

Create your template document(s) – use any combination of Word, Excel, PowerPoint or PDFs. These can include merging data from Salesforce fields as well as Salesforce reports.
Build the DDP – add any additional Salesforce reports or report data to your DDP.
Schedule DDP – “Weekly on Friday at 5:00pm”
Deliver DDP to Chatter Group (post to Chatter Group ID)

Meritage Homes Creates Docs in the Cloud

Drawloop was honored earlier this year to be selected as a solutions partner to help Meritage Homes, a national home builder, add dynamic document creation to its new configuration app on Force.com. The application allows agents to modify home options on the fly, bringing together its front and back office systems.

In the Salesforce.com Q1 2013 earnings call, Marc Benioff (Salesforce Chairman and CEO) mentioned the Meritage Homes custom configuration application as an example of the innovation being built on the Force.com platform.
