NEW DDP FEATURES

• Merge Originals

  We have expanded what a DDP administrator can do with “Deliver Original Docs”. Historically, LOOPlus allowed you to build and deploy dynamic document creation merging Salesforce data into any combination of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files. The DDP administrator could determine to return a single PDF, a PDF of each document in the DDP or each original merged document in the DDP. With LOOP 6.0, you now have the option to merge and then combine multiple Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents to a single Word, Excel or PowerPoint file.

  - Merge Word to Word (doc to doc)
  - Merge PowerPoint to PowerPoint (ppt to ppt)
  - Merge Excel to Excel (xls to xls)

   

  Word Example:
  You have a proposal or statement of work that is made up of 4 different Word template documents. Regardless of the required documents, you want to return back a single merged Word document. Now, you can simply add “merge from previous” to your DDP manager. This allows you to build all of the required DDP logic and workflow and specify if you want all of the Word template documents to merge to a single Word file. In addition to merging to a single Word file, you can evaluate Salesforce fields or other form field logic to determine for example if an additional disclosure needs to be included. For contract negotiations, you can even deliver the single merged Word file with tracking turned on. This is great to start the redlining process.

   
  
   

  PowerPoint Example:
  You can now return a single PowerPoint file managed at the DDP level with various optional and/or required presentation elements of a PowerPoint slide deck. This provides the DDP administrator and end-user with ultimate control over dynamic PowerPoint document generation. See our support site for more information.
   

 
 

• EchoSign Enhancements

  Now, you can send a DDP for e-signature through EchoSign with the single click of a button. The button click allows you to automatically generate highly customizable dynamic documents (NDAs, Quotes, Contracts, Service Agreements, Statements of Work) to an EchoSign Agreement within Salesforce. The DDP can be defaulted with all of the appropriate agreement settings and recipients. Additionally, the EchoSign Agreement can be signed in person either on a computer or mobile device.

  • Send a DDP to EchoSign in one click
    From the click of a single button, you and your users can send DDPs to EchoSign automatically submitted for e-signature!

   
  

 
 

• Permission Sets

  We have listened to our DDP Admins – with LOOP 6.0, you can easily add Permission Sets for DDP Admins and DDP Users. You can grant DDP access to individual users without having to clone your profiles. The DDP Admin Permission Set includes full CRUD rights to all of the LOOP custom objects as well as Read, Create, and Edit rights on documents. The DDP User Permission Set includes only Read access to LOOP custom objects and documents, and full CRUD rights on the Document Queue.

Confused on how to use this delivery option?  Here’s an example of where “email user” functionality can be used.  Let’s say your sales reps don’t want to wait for the DDP to be created or they need to include other elements or more thoughtful email communication with the proposal. With email user delivery, the sales rep can click a button and then receive an email with the attached merged DDP. From there, the user can work within email to deliver the DDP later in the day when he or she has time to review and complete the communication to go out with the sales proposal.

Members of our team had a great time attending Dreamforce 2010. Dreamforce was full of action-packed days. We heard from amazing speakers, reviewed some new products and services from Salesforce, and were amazed to witness over 25,000 Dreamforce attendees at the Moscone Center. The most rewarding part of the event for us was connecting with customers from around the world and extending our relationships with salesforce integrators.

It was also fun to see many of our customers presenting at breakout sessions throughout the week. Customers like Iron Mountain talking about leveraging applications like Drawloop from the AppExchange and Austin Ventures discussing how they customized Force.com to manage its unique business requirements around venture capital.

Drawloop got a little love from Salesforce during George Hu’s ISVforce presentation at the keynote on Wednesday, December 8th (a few second logo flash from the main stage). HIGHLIGHTS

1. Integration with Salesforce Content
   • Use Content within a DDP
     This feature allows the DDP admin to include any documents stored in Salesforce Content within a DDP. This includes template documents that contain merge fields.

     

   • Store a merged DDP in Content – you can specify a workspace
     This extends DDP output storage to now include Content in addition to Salesforce attachment and Amazon S3 through LOOP Storage.

     

   • Send a DDP to Content Delivery
     This powerful new delivery option allows a DDP to leverage all of the functionality available in Content Delivery. This includes the ability to email a link to the DDP, know when the DDP is viewed, and expire the DDP from being viewed. Learn more

     

2. SMTP Service
   This feature allows companies to send emails through their own SMTP servers. If you are frustrated with Salesforce mass email limits, contact us today to learn more.
3. Related Object Aliases
   This feature provides the ability to include multiple tables for one object. Related Object Filters allow records in a table to be limited based on certain criteria. With Related Object Aliases, DDPs can now contain one or more tables for these filtered records of the same object. This is particularly handy if you wanted to list products of type A in one table and products of type B in another table.
4. Field Tagger
   Our new Field Tagger makes it even easier to insert Salesforce values into your DDP files. This is very useful for our Mac users and admins that can’t or don’t want to use the Salesforce Connect for Office tool.

   

5. DDP Filter
   DDP Filters simplifies the process to limit DDPs based on any data in Salesforce. For example, you can limit marketing DDPs to only be available when an Opportunity’s stage is Prospecting and limit quote or contract DDPs to only be available when the stage is Proposal/Quote. This can also be used to add layers of security to DDPs (beyond Profiles, Roles, and object types).
6. DDP Insert-Update Salesforce Records
   This feature can create a new Salesforce record or update an existing record when a DDP is run. More to come on this exciting new feature in our next blog post.
